Os: The autobiography
By Os du Randt
Synopsis
The fact that he is larger than most other props is not the extraordinary thing about Os. At six foot two and 128 kg he is able to tackle like a Henry Honiball on steroids and run and pass like a loose forward, giving him an unfair advantage over his opponents. What makes any Test player special is his ability to do what his position expects of him yet is consistently able to do what is not expected of him with as much ease. For me, that sums up Os.
Mark Andrews
Loosehead prop Os du Randt has played for the Springboks 61 times despite serious injuries that threatened to bring his career to a premature end. Os is feared by his opponents and respected by all who understand and love the game. He is a true rugby legend, generally rated as one of the two best looseheads of all time.
This is his story. Os: The Autobiography focuses on both his disappointments and his triumphs. He is the only member of François Pienaar's victorious 1995 World Cup team who is still a member of Jake White's Springbok side.
