The White Monkey (1924), The Silver Spoon (1926), and Swan Song (1928) constitute the second trilogy of novels—collectively titled A Modern Comedy—by Nobel laureate John Galsworthy. These books follow the post-WWI generation of the Forsyte family, specifically focusing on Fleur Mont (née Forsyte), her husband Michael, and their shifting social, romantic, and political struggles.
1929. English novelist and playwright, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1932, Galsworthy became known for his portrayal of the British upper middle class and for his social satire.
