Charles Causley was born at Launceston in Cornwall, where he still writes and teaches. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and in 1967 was awarded the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry. This is his fifth collection of verse. He has appeared in Penguin Poets 3.
