It looked as though Pam, Di, and Madge three school chums-were going to have a peaceful holiday with Miss Anstey at Bay View Cottage, until they met Buster Bill Kent, who confided in them that he suspected something "fishy" going on at a lonely farm, known as Dorrock's, as a result of hearing certain voices in the dark there, counting...counting....
The four children determine to solve the mystery, and, after much excitement, during which Di is captured and eventually saved by Mr. Prendergast, the cat, who plays a large part in the story, they bring to justice a gang of rogues who have been forging money.
An exciting story for boys and girls, with its full measure of thrills and tension.
