Siri Hustvedt's first novel, The Blindfold, was published in the United States in 1992 and subsequently translated into eight foreign languages. She is the author of a book of poetry, Reading to You, and her work has been published in the Paris Review, Fiction and Best American Short Stories 1990 and 1991. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
