The Hound of Baskervilles: a Sherlock Holmes story
By Arthur Conan Doyle
Synopsis
In the 17th Century, legend had it, a hound from hell tore out the throat of the devilish Sir Hugo Baskerville. And now his descendant, Sir Charles Baskerville, appears to have suffered the same fate, dead on the moor with a look of abject terror on his face and giant paw prints near his body. But was he killed by the gigantic phantom hound - or is a violent escaped convict to blame? Or perhaps Barrymore, the secretive servant at Baskerville Hall, has something to do with it.
In one of their toughest cases, Holmes and Watson must confront the supernatural and the terrors of the moor to bring their murderer to book and save Sir Charles's heir, Sir Henry Baskerville, from the family curse.
