The lost symbol

By Dan Brown

Synopsis

The Lost Symbol is a thriller novel by Dan Brown, published in 2009. It is the third book in the Robert Langdon series, following Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code.
The story follows symbologist Robert Langdon, who is invited to give a lecture at the United States Capitol Building by his mentor, Peter Solomon. However, upon arrival, Langdon discovers that Solomon has been kidnapped, and he is forced to embark on a perilous journey to rescue him.
Langdon soon finds himself on a quest to uncover a powerful lost symbol hidden within the secrets of Freemasonry. As he navigates the hidden chambers and cryptic clues of Washington D.C., he must evade the sinister forces that seek to exploit the symbol's power.
Along the way, Langdon teams up with Katherine Solomon, Peter's sister, who helps him unravel the mysteries of the symbol. Together, they uncover a conspiracy that threatens to destroy the very foundations of American society.
The Lost Symbol is a fast-paced and intellectually stimulating thriller that explores themes of symbology, history, and conspiracy. Brown's signature blend of action, suspense, and intellectual curiosity makes for a compelling read, as Langdon and Katherine navigate the complex web of secrets and lies that underlie the nation's capital.
